Then, add about 2 ounces of hairpiece shampoo or cleanser to the water and swish around to mix. Place the hairpiece into the solution and soak for 5 to 10 minutes. Swish the hair around the soapy solution for a minute and then discard the soapy water. Rinse the hair well with cool water and gently shake out the excess.
Drying Your Hairpiece
To dry your hairpieces, start out with a towel or a wire wig form. Either let the wig air dry naturally on the towel or place it on the wire form to let air pass through to help it dry. Never use a hairdryer on the wig or brush it while wet as it can cause damage. Once dry, you can spritz on a wig conditioner and style it as you normally would.

Hairpieces and wigs should be washed about every 10 to 14 days, depending on how often you wear it. If you notice makeup or product buildup on the wig, it's usually time to give it a good cleansing.
